What is DEAM?
Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) is an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October. The purpose of Disability Employment Awareness Month is to promote employment inclusion for people with disabilities and celebrate the many and varied contributions of workers with disabilities. Reflecting this year’s theme, (Inclusive Workplace Cultures), the CEFN will be engaging in a variety of activities to engage Calgary Employers and Human Resource professionals about disability employment issues and the role everyone plays in fostering a disability-friendly work culture.
We’re looking for examples of employees with disabilities who shine in their roles (DEAMjobs) and employers who are leaders in recognizing the employability of people with disabilities (DEAMemployers). Email us and share your success stories (50 words or so) to firstname.lastname@example.org We’ll post them throughout October.

The Calgary Employment First Network is proud to be a part of this year’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month. We want to spread the important message that a strong workforce is one inclusive of the skills and talents of everyone, including individuals with disabilities.
Inclusive Workplace Culture Video
The CEFN will also be creating an ‘Inclusive Workplace Cultures’ video. This mini-documentary will feature numerous Calgary employers speaking about their successes hiring employees with disabilities and their direct experience with the benefits of inclusion.
